April is Stress Awareness Month

Rest is so important for your physical and mental wellbeing, especially as life potentially becomes busier as things start to reopen again and our pace of life will naturally adjust.  It’s been a tough and unpredictable year for us all and this can take a huge toll and effect us in ways we may not have even noticed.

April is stress awareness month, stress can take on many forms and is different for everyone, you may be experiencing something which you don’t realise is due to stress.

Below are the most common signs that you could be stressed or at burnout:

  • A lack of energy or low energy
  • Frequent headaches
  • An upset stomach, including diarrhea, constipation and/or nausea
  • Aches, pains, and tense muscles
  • Chest pain and rapid heartbeat
  • Insomnia or trouble sleeping
  • Frequent colds and infections

Prevention is always better than cure, so where you can learn to read the signs of stress this will help you to stop burn out from happening.

In next week’s blog we’ll be talking about how to help cope with stress, simple things you can do daily or weekly to help take care of your body and mind, the two are closely linked and taking care of one has a huge, positive impact on the other.
