As Day Light increases so does your Stamina

The clocks have gone forward meaning we have longer and lighter evenings ahead.

As the days get longer and we receive more sunlight our stamina naturally increases. Stamina is the strength and energy that allows you to sustain physical or mental effort for long periods of time.

Here are our top tips to increase our energy levels in alignment with our stamina to achieve the most we can both physically and mentally each day:

Exercise Did you know that consistent exercise will help build your stamina? Results of a 2017 study showed that the participants who were experiencing work-related fatigue improved their energy levels after six weeks of exercise intervention

Stay Hydrated Aim to drink 2 litres of water per day and eat fruit and vegetables which have high levels of water to avoid dehydration.

Sleep Our number one rule is extremely important to ensure you wake up with high levels of energy each morning. Between 7 to 9 hours per night is ideal!

Control stress Stress-induced emotions consume huge amounts of energy due to it leading our bodies to release cortisol. This hormone uses up our energy by releasing fatty acids and glucose from the liver.

Lighten your load One of the main reasons for tiredness and low energy levels is due to being overworked. Ensure you have an enjoyable and realistic work life balance.

Eat for energy So much of our energy is gained from food so ensure you are fueling your body. Introducing a protein shake each morning or ensuring you hit your protein goal each day is a quick and easy to increase your energy levels.

Even trying one or two tips from the list above will help you see and feel an increase in your energy levels, so start making some positive effective changes today!
